Arbeitskreis Börse (AKB) : ウィキペディア英語版
Arbeitskreis Börse

The Arbeitskreis Börse (AKB) (appreciated ''AKB'' or ''AK Boerse'') is a German non-profit organization dedicated to connect students and companies focused on capital markets and consulting. The AKB is organized exclusively by students of the University of Mannheim and is among the largest student organizations in Germany with more than 1,000 active members. During the semester various events are organized on Mannheim's main campus - the Mannheim Palace in Mannheim, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Besides topical lectures held by renowned people from the financial or the consulting industry, several company workshops as well as student work groups are conducted. During the lectures the audience can discuss with several top tier personalities about specific topics or case studies and get to know company recruiters as well as employees afterwards.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=About: Arbeitskreis Börse – Studenten der Universität Mannheim e.V. )〕〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=AK Boerse: Official Website )
== History ==
The AKB was initially founded in order to close the gap between students who were interested in financial markets and the lectures, held by the university. Prior to its establishment, there was no student association providing a possibility to get in touch with each other, therefore a few students organized on their own initiative intended to develop into a center of communication for everyone interested in the stock exchange. With the support of the University of Mannheim, the Arbeitskreis Börse evolved from that small group of students and was officially registered as a non-profit association in November 1984. The AKB is the oldest student organization at the University of Mannheim.
Parallel to the positive development of the financial markets, the AKB grew rapidly and attracted nearly 1,000 students in the following years. Due to its publications, the student initiative increased its awareness across the borders of the Rhine-Neckar Region. The concept of a continuous semester program, including lectures at the University of Mannheim, held by different companies, as well as the relationships with some banks in the Rhine-Neckar Region and Frankfurt, started to develop in these times. In 1988, the ''Kreis der Freunde und Förderer des AKB'' (Society of Friends and Sponsors of the AKB) was founded in order to cover the growing interest of non-student institutions.
Today, the AKB is not only the biggest student initiative at the University of Mannheim but also the biggest student association focused on financial markets throughout the German speaking countries. The AKB still provides the same extensive semester program and within the framework of their lectures they attract renowned speakers from both banking and consulting.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Vortragsarchiv AKB )
